Today I received email from HubPages Apprenticeship Team telling me that my application was denied. Their reason, I did not properly enter my HubPages username and that they were unable to properly review my application as it came through as unreadable.
However, HubPages Apprenticeship Team advised me to feel free to re-apply if I am still interested and further told me that in order to increase chances of being accepted I must do the following:
I should publish Hubs regularly to demonstrate that I will will be able to meet the eight Hub per month minimum
I should publish high quality, well-written, and
grammatically correct Hubs that use a variety of capsules to demonstrate my willingness to try new things with the Hub Tool
I should create informative, useful, search-friendly Hubs
And I should maintain a positive attitude within the HubPages community and adhere to HubPages’ publishing standards
So far, I am already on twenty-two months as a hubber at HubPages and I had already published eleven hubs on their site. But the traffic and views my hub pages received are not admirable and the earnings as well compared to other publishing sites I am writing for.
Regarding the HubPages Apprenticeship Program - they are still looking for Apprentices that have demonstrated an interest in online writing and building a strong online portfolio of work. This means that, when reviewing applicants, they will be looking for a consistent stream of newly-published Hubs or an already existing blog, website, or collection of published online work. They will be reviewing these works for proper grammar and punctuation, as
strong writing skills are essential for success, and the Apprenticeship Program does not cover basic writing skills.
HubPages are looking for applicants who are motivated to improve their online writing skills and build their online brand, and are also willing to learn and provide support and feedback to fellow Apprentices. The Apprenticeship Program is a long-term and demanding program as it lasts for six months and each Apprentice must publish at least eight high quality Hubs to maintain enrollment, and they only want to accept applicants who are willing to invest a significant amount of time and focus.
Under the Program I quoted the Apprenticeship Lesson Themes are as follows:
Month 1: Online Media 101
Month 2: Getting Found Online
Month 3: Photos and Video
Month 4: Making Money & Understanding Your Traffic
Month 5: Developing a Following
Month 6: Establishing a Multi-Platform Personal Brand
